The Challenge
Organize and execute a fundraising event or campaign that generates the most money for a non-profit organization of your choice. Take our money and do more good with it!
The Basics
- Choose any non-profit organization that you love.
- Plan a fundraising event or campaign on its behalf.
- Submit your proposal online by March 9, 2012.
- If your event is chosen, we will cover all budgeted costs outlined in your proposal. Max budget = $1,000.
- Document your efforts on video (Show off your awesome idea in action).
- Submit your final video and exit report by July 15, 2012.
- The most profitable campaign/event will receive up to $200 per student in college application fees.
The Details
- This contest awards the most profitable event/campaign. That means maximizing the difference between the money spent and the money raised. Do more good, with less!
- All proceeds must be donated to a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
- Only one non-profit organization may be chosen.
- Preference will be shown to groups who choose an organization that works to create lasting, sustainable, change for the better.
- Your proposal must include: rationale for choosing your organization, your plan or great idea, your budget, a project calendar, and the full roster of participating leaders.
- All campaigns/events must be completed by June 30, 2012.
- 100% of your donations must be given to your organization within 3 business days of your event.
- Only Juniors listed on the roster of leaders are eligible to win the $200 application fee awards.
The Deadlines
- March 9: Submit proposal
- March 9-15: Proposals in review and negotiated
- March 16: Winning proposals notified
- June 30: All campaigns/events concluded
- July 15: Submit your final video and exit report
The Help
- Be creative! The best ideas will win.
- Don’t be afraid to piggyback other big events coming up (prom, graduation, sports events, etc…).
- Don’t forget about that whole Internet thing; we’ve heard it’s pretty useful.
- Details win. Remember that when creating your budget and project calendar.
- The organization you choose will be vetted, so make sure you choose a great one.
